I came here from Reykjavik with a car. It is still 2h drive from Reykjavik but it definitely worth it !
This lunar landscape is surreal... all made out of black volcanic rock and sand, you feel like being on another planet. This feeling is even more true when you come across this McDouglas wreck from the US army which crashed here in 1973. You come thought so many weird feeling when you are here... like loneliness, in the middle of nowhere, with this dead plane.
